Funk, Funk, Funkity, Funk, Funk.

So, lately I've been in a funk.
By lately I mean this entire past week.

Funk reasoning: I haven't lost a single pound in two weeks. I've eaten less, worked out more, but my body says FUCK YOU. Yup, it is that bad that I am using "words not appropriate for younger children".

This evening I decided enough is enough. Why? Why tonight? Well...(be warned over-sharing about to commence):
1. I stopped taking my diet pill on Friday
2. I pooped earlier and weighed myself. The scale said 261.5 vs. me not being any lighter than 2 weeks ago.
3. I went to a blog that always makes me smile.
4. The blog made me have an idea.

Katie Sokoler
So, this blog is called Color Me Katie. It is the blog of a girl named Katie Sokoler - she is a paper wizard, a street artist, and all around amazing, happy person. Not only did it make me smile because of all the bright colors and her cat, Moo, but it made me have an idea.

Moo
Every time I blog from now on I will post at least one thing that makes/has made me happy. It's my new blog project...blogject. Today it was Color Me Katie, tomorrow it could be...Star Wars (which I watched today) - who knows really! For all I know, what makes me happy is you! That's right there could be a giant stinking photo of you on this blog. How cool! Right?

Now what else have I done in the 5ish days since I last posted. Well...I took my B12 injection, hung out with some friends, FINALLY got a new tv for the living room, and saw The Help with my mom.

I had read the book a week or so ago and it was amazing. Luckily, the movie adaptation was just as amazing. I always worry about how books will translate onto the big screen. You see, I'm ok with a book ruining a movie, but not ok with a movie ruining a book. So, I try and take them as two separate entities, but it's difficult sometimes - like with Harry Potter (the epitome of my childhood).

The Help movie was great. There were a few changes and omissions (of course), but in the end the message was just as clear as it was in the book. I also enjoyed how the screen writers didn't omit the sad, tear jerker moments. I always have a problem when a more melancholy book is changed into a happy go lucky movie - i.e. Wicked (though the movie was a musical in this instance).

Now that I'm de-funkified I will post more often..and hopefully I'll have more photos/quick videos for you folks to enjoy!

Thanks for sticking with me even though I take sporadic blogging breaks. You guys are the best!

Jessica
